St David's Equine announce new sponsored rider, Jessica Colvin

We are excited to announce our new partnership with local dressage rider, Jessica Colvin!

Jessica is a Devon based amateur dressage rider who competes in British Dressage with her two horses Memo II and Dreamer V.

Memo is a 16.1hh German bred Trakhener Gelding who has competed up toBE 2*s with his previous owner. Jess was given the ride on him in the middle of 2018 whilst Dreamer went through rehabilitation and subsequently purchased him in early 2019. Jess has enjoyed some success with Memo already which includes a win at the Area Festival Semi-Finals at Moreton Equestrian in June 2019.

Dreamer is a 16hh English bred mare who has successfully competed up to Novice level BD in the 4 years that Jess has owned her. Jess re-schooled the mare up to Medium level at home prior to starting her affiliated career in earlier 2017. Since then Dreamer has been very successful with her career including a win at the Area Festival Semi-Finals in 2017, second place in the Area Festival Finals 2017 and a win at the Summer Regionals in 2019. She has qualified and competed at both the NAF Hartpury Winter Championships in 2018 and the LeMieux National Dressage Championships at Stoneleigh Park in 2019 and has gained a winter regional qualification for 2019 in just 2 outings. In 2018 Dreamer was diagnosed with mild Kissing Spines, St David’s Equine were by her side throughout from initial diagnosis, to injections, up to their first time back out at BD at the start of 2019. Jessica said “I cannot thank St David’s Equine enough for their help and support over the last few years, finding a vet that you can trust who shares the ups and downs with you is priceless”.

Upcoming Competitions

Jess will be competing Memo in the Area Festival Finals at Bicton Arena in October this year at both Prelim and Novice level. He will then enjoy a break for a week or two before she starts looking to get his qualifying scores in for the 2020 championships. Jess is looking to put the work in to have him out at Elementary at the start of the year.

Richard Turner, director of St David's Equine said, "It is great to support an up- and- coming local rider. Jess has an immense amount of enthusiasm for the sport and clearly works incredibly hard. We are looking forward to following her and her horses throughout the year and wish her all the best for the upcoming competition season!"
