We are committed to providing you with optimum care for your horse, pony or donkey and we sympathise with concerns you may be having regarding veterinary cover for your animal during the current human COVID-19 global pandemic. Please be assured that your animal’s welfare is of paramount importance to us. We are also taking restrictive measures to ensure that our vets, nurses and office team are not exposed to infection.
Following Government announcements on 23rd March and further to guidance from the British Equine Veterinary Association on Tuesday, St David's Equine are pleased to still offer a number of important services to our clients:
Ambulatory services including emergency work. This includes any horse/pony/donkey requiring immediate veterinary attendance. Please be prepared for social distancing.
Routine work (including dentals and non-essential vaccinations) will temporarily cease. We expect further details on the competition implications of vaccine dates to be released in the coming days/weeks.
New, non-urgent cases requiring a veterinary consultation can temporarily take place over the telephone. Upon calling the practice you will be offered an appointment at a dedicated time allocation. The vet will call or FaceTime you (whichever is your preference) at your allocated appointment time and discuss your animal. A small charge of £30 applies for this service. If attendance is advised by the vet, this charge will be credited against the full consultation fee. Any medicines prescribed can be posted or collected from the hatch at the front of the practice building.
We are still able to answer your calls 24hours a day 7 days a week. If you wish to request repeat medicines please allow 24hours for them to be dispensed during this time. We are doing our best to keep up with demand. You can alternatively email your requests to: email@example.com. We are available on the phone if you have concerns regarding your animal and will help where we can.
May we take this opportunity to wish all clients of St David’s Equine a happy, healthy, socially distant, period ahead. We look forward to seeing you all again.
