We are pleased to announce the resumption of our popular client evenings with a
series of seminars and lectures for Spring 2010. Lectures in the series are free
of charge and will take place at The New Conference facilities at Darts Farm. We
have also arranged seminars and demonstrations on selected topics for smaller numbers
of delegates for which there will be a small charge to cover our costs.
Numbers will be limited, so please contact the practice to register your interest
and book a place.

Lecture and Discussion: Getting your Mare in Foal – Your Questions Answered
The pros and cons of artificial insemination and embryo transfer will be discussed.
There will be a particular emphasis on answering the breeding questions of those
attending.

Lecture and Discussion: Gastric Ulceration in Horses – What are the Signs and
How can they be Treated.
Gastric Ulceration is increasingly being diagnosed in all types of horses. The signs
are not always easy to recognise but ulcers can have profound effects on your horse’s
performance and quality of life.

Seminar: Managing the Pregnant Mare and New Born Foal
This will be in a seminar format for a smaller number of clients. We will discuss
the management of the pregnant mare, how to recognise and manage foaling problems
and conditions to watch for in the new born and young foal. You will also be shown
around the practice.
You will be given a set of notes covering the topics discussed and lunch will be
provided. There will be a small charge to cover the costs of this.

Lecture Demonstration: Horses Inside Out
This is a popular travelling lecture at which a Physiotherapist discusses the bones
and muscles of the horse and how these work. The lecture is highly practical and
visual as it is illustrated by painting the anatomy of the horse onto a live animal.
King Solomon, Mary King’s former Olympic Event horse has volunteered to be our Guinea
Pig for the evening!!
Numbers will be limited and there will be a charge for each ticket which will cover
the cost of the lecture only.
